The  OMNIKEY® 5553 Reader Board RS 232  or RS422/485 Compact Multi ISO is a contact less proximity read/write device that supports various ISO14443A/B, ISO 15693, ISO 18000-3, NFC and EPC RFID-devices, including the whole mifare® family. The module has a built in antenna. By using the serial interface the device can be connected to a PC or any other host system easily. An integrated SAM Socket enables a state of the art security level. This RFID read/write unit is optimized for maximum data throughput rates on both, the air interface as well as the serial interface. The built in boot-loader enables firmware field upgrades via the serial interface.
